Mary Turpin MRCVS – Vet

Hello, I’m Mary Turpin, vet and owner here at Vastre Vets.

Mary Turpin MRCVSI am a native of Newtown, having attended Newtown High School and I qualified as a vet from Cambridge University in 1985.

I spent 2 years working as a small animal vet in Devon before embarking on a world trip in 1988-89, with my husband Graham. Following our return, we relocated to mid Wales and I worked for the Ministry of Agriculture for 9 years.

In 1997 I started the transition back into small animal practice, and in 2000 we realised our ambition of opening our own veterinary practice in Newtown, where we treat only pets; mainly dogs, cats and rabbits and it is our aim to provide a highly personal service.

Outside of work my life is very busy, attending to the demands of a growing family and keeping up with their interests. This has led to activities ranging from working dogs, horses, and running a small farm, and when we have time we enjoy trips abroad with friends.

It is fortunate for my family that cooking is my main hobby, and I enjoy replicating the meals which we have experienced abroad.

I am dedicated to Vastre Vets and ensuring that we show care and compassion to all our patients and clients.
